Stellenausschreibung: TU - University Assistant (Prae-Doc) - 30 hours/week | limited to 4 years

At the Institute of Computer Technology, in the research area Autonomous Systems, there is a vacant position for a Research Assistant (PhD candidate), from June 2022, limited to expected 4 years, with the following scope of responsibility.

Tasks:

  • Research work in the area of Robotics, Machine Learning, and Human Robot Interaction
  • Literature survey and Research in the thema „Autonomous robot learning of complex manipulation tasks“
  • Supervision of students in the area of Robotics, Machine Learning, and Human Robot Interaction
  • Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • A master degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, or automation engineering with specialization in the field of robotics, machine learning, or equivalent university studies at home or abroad
  • In-depth knowledge in one or preferably more of the following areas is considered an advantage: Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Control Engineering
  • Knowledge of scientific work, mathematics, good knowledge of and interest in Machine Learning, sound knowledge of Python, C/ C++, and Matlab
  • Existing experience in working in a scientific team, publication activities, as well as in the processing of research projects is considered an advantage
  • Didactic skills and willingness to supervise Bachelor, Master theses
  • Excellent knowledge of English, German desired
  • Ability to work in a team, problem-solving skills, and the ability to innovate

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,294.00/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
