23. Gender Summit Africa

16. - 17.02.2023 Hybrid

Energy transition through the gender lens (Hybrid conference format)

The Gender Summit was created in 2011 following the recommendations from science leaders that action is needed to address gaps and biases in evidence that may negatively affect quality of research outcomes for women. The Gender Summit is not a conference in a traditional sense but a platform for dialogue where scientists, gender scholars and policy makers jointly examine new evidence to agree where further improvements are needed. It is interesting to examine the programmes of the 22 summits so far to see the evolution in the thinking and in practice since 2011. For instance, GS21 is an example of how diversity and inclusion issues are becoming merged into the discussions of gender equality and quality of science knowledge-making.
