Im März ist die Wahl auf Barbara Imhof gefallen.

Die ausgebildete Architektin Imhof hat an mehreren Universitäten im In- und Ausland studiert: Bartlett School of Architecture (London), Southern California Institute of Architecture (Los Angeles), Technische Universität Wien. Ein Schritt in Richtung Weltraum erfolgte durch ihren Master of Space Studies an der International Space University in Strasbourg. Mit ihrer Dissertation zum Thema ,,An Architectural Approach To Designing A Long Duration Human Space Mission to Mars" 2006 an der Technischen Universität Wien setzte sie ihre virtuelle Reise durchs Weltall fort. Imhof ist Mitbegründerin und Geschäftsführerin von LIQUIFER Systems Group Wien, einer internationalen Forschungsplattform im Bereich der Entwicklung von Designs für Weltraummissionen.
